6 in. x 8 in. x 24 in. blocks, Sketch 1. Locate 45 degree portion of block against front and rear of wheels.
Nail-heel of block to floor with three 40-D nails and toe-nail that portion under tire to car floor with two
40-D nails before Items "C" and "'G" are applied. Substitute, if desired, at each location, blocks, Sketch
2 or blocks, Sketches 8 or 4, secured to floor, as shown.

B in. x 4 in. x 12 in. Locate one end against Item "B" Sketch 3, and nail each to floor, length-wise of car,
with four 20-D nails. Not required when Items "B", Sketches 1, 2 or 4, are used.

1 in. No. 14 B. W. gage hot rolled steel, with anchor plates. Sketch 5. Locate over axles and secure
each plate to floor with eight 20-D cement-coated nails. Substitute, if desired, at each location, 4
strands, No. 9 gage wire, or wires of equivalent strength. Pass over axle, underneath and around Item
"E" and twist taut after Item "E" has been nailed in place. Not required when Items ' are used.

2 in. x 4 in. x 18 in. Nail each to floor, lengthwise of car, with four 20-D nails. Not required when Items
"D", Sketch 5, are used.

Each to consist of two pieces of 2 in. x 4 in. x 36 in. Nail lower piece to floor with four 20-D nails and
wheel.
top piece to the one below with four 20-D nails.

4 strands, No. 9 gage wire, or wires of equivalent strength. Attach to spring shackles and to
shackle.

two stake pockets on flat cars and under and around Item "O" in gondola cars and twist taut with rod or
bolt, after Item "O" has been nailed in place.

2 in. x 4 in. x 18 in. Nail each to floor, lengthwise of car, with four 20-D nails. Not required for flat cars.

4 in. x 4 in. vertical body blocks, length to suit. Locate one at each outside edge of trailer and toe-nail to
floor with four 30-D nails in each.

2 in. x 4 in. cross ties, length to suit. Locate flush with top of and nail to each Item "P" with three 20-D nails.

2 in. x 4 in. x 12 in. cleats. Locate top portion against body or frame of trailer and nail lower portion of
each to outside face of Items "P" with four 20-D nails.

2 in. x 4 in. diagonal braces, length to suit. Locate diagonally and nail each top end to Item "P" with three
20-D nails and toe-nail each bottom end to floor with three 20-D nails.

2 in. x 4 in. diagonal braces, length to suit. Locate diagonally and nail each end to top and bottom of
opposite Items "P" with three 20-D nails.

2 in. x 4 in. x 12 in. longitudinal floor blocks. Locate one ahead of, behind and outside of each Item "P"
and nail each to floor with four 20-D nails.

"J" bolt, Sketch 7. Apply, as shown, to axle. Not required when Items "D" are used.
Items "P" to "U", inclusive, not required for trailers with positive locking front supports.
For four wheel trailers use Items "B" to "H" inclusive at both ends and omit Items "M" to "U" inclusive.
Item "M" not required when Items "P" to "U" are used, or vice versa, provided Items "N" are used at all times.
