Procedures specify the heating and cooling of parts to aid in disassembly and assembly. Heated and
cooled parts may cause injury to personnel if hand protection is not worn when handling. Wear protective
gloves for maximum protection.

If a reading of less than three megohms is obtained, bake armature for 4 hours at 230°F (110°C) in a
convection oven. Recheck megohm reading after cooling armature to room temperature. If the reading is still
low, replace the armature.
d.
Attach lead (1) of megohmmeter (2) to one exciter lead.
e.
Attach lead (2) of megohmmeter (2) to other exciter lead.
