CLEANING, INSPECTION, AND REPAIR

Use a stiff brush and remove dirt and sludge deposits.
WARNING
Drycleaning solvent P-D-680 is toxic and
flammable. Wear protective goggles and gloves
and use only in a well-ventilated area. Avoid
contact with skin, eyes, and clothes and don't
breathe vapors. Do not use near open flame or
excessive heat. The flash point is 100 - 138°F
(38 - 59°C).If you become dizzy while using
cleaning solvent, get fresh air and medical aid
immediately. If contact with eyes is made, wash
your eyes and get medical aid immediately.
Compressed air used for cleaning purposes will
not exceed 30 psi (207 kPa).Do not direct
compressed air against skin. Use goggles or
full face shield.
6.
Use drycleaning solvent and remove grease and oil and dry with compressed air.
7.
Inspect doors and door latches for proper working condition.
8.
Inspect pins (1) and hinge halves (9) and (13) for serviceability.
9.
Inspect sheet metal for dents, cracks, and corrosion.
10.
Replace missing or damaged parts.
11.
Repair metal defects by patching, welding, and grinding smooth. Paint repaired parts.
12.
Lubricate latches and hinges with lubricating oil in accordance with LO 55-2210-224-12.
ASSEMBLY
13.
Position spring (16) on door frame and install two lockwashers (15) and capscrews (14).
14.
Position two hinge halves (13) on cab and install six screws (12), lockwashers (11), and nuts (10).
15.
If removed, position and spot weld two hinge halves (9) on door (2).
